My Journey

Hi, I'm Julie Morris, and I've been married to that handsome man pictured above for 30 years now!  We were babies when we met.  We dated for 4 years, were engaged for 3 yrs and married 30.  So we've been together a lifetime!  We are best friends and each others biggest fans!

I grew up in a small house on Cape Cod with my 4 siblings, Kathy (deceased 2009), Linda, Rose and Melvin. My Mother was an incredibly strong woman who raised five children on her own.  She was an LPN and worked nights 11pm to 7am and slept once she got us all off to school.  She taught me to sew  and at young age, I fell in love with fabric, fashion and interior design.  At the age of thirteen, I started working at a local fabric store, "The Fabric Corner" from 3pm-6pm after school and weekends 10am-6pm.  It worked out great, as I was in charge of paying the household utility bills and I could also make my own clothes, essentially for free!  My job came with the additional perk of being able to make displays, hang them for 6 weeks and then I could take them home.  So, I made all my clothes through high school and made table coverings, pillows and curtains for my mother to use in our house. 

 I worked at The Fabric Corner in Falmouth for a very kind and smart man, Jerry Winer. I continued to work there summers home from College (Framingham State University, Clothing and Textiles, Fashion Design) and I also had a little couture business going, making prom dresses and wedding gowns to help pay my way through college.   

This job made a huge impact on my future. ..

Mr Winer wanted to open a 3rd location in Boston (Newbury St) that would be strictly fabrics for the home and offer interior decorating service.  He wanted me to run it and that, I did!  I had a small staff and we decorated the beautiful homes of Back Bay and Beacon Hill for over 7 yrs.  During that time and at the age of 23, the Executive Team at Jordan Marsh was looking to launch a shop at home window shade business in New England and was looking for a licensee to partner with on the project.  I was already  selling and installing blinds and shades in our Boston location, so I figured this could be a great way to expand our business.  So, I put together a rather aggressive  business plan and submitted it to Jordan Marsh.  They loved it, interviewed me and we secured the contract!  

A few years later, Mr Winer passed away, his son took over the business and Calico Corners found me ~ and scooped me up!  My career thrived at Calico for over a 20 years.  I started as Manager of the Natick, Ma location, bringing custom-made products into the equation and more than tripled  the sales volume in my 4+ yrs there.  This lead the owner to promote and relocate my husband and I to their Corporate Head Quarters in Kennett Square, PA. where I would build their custom labor program nationwide.  This became a $120M business at Calico and my career flourished. By 2012 I was leading the Merchandising and Marketing functions for the company and ultimately was put in charge of Stores and Operations for 100+ store locations. I was on top of the world, living on my purpose, creating beautiful product, mentoring, training and developing young talent to thrive and all the while taking good care of myself through yoga and good nutrition!

 I gained much knowledge and experience in business and leadership there and spent the last 5.5 yrs of my career at Kravet Fabrics, Inc shifting to a B2B model, selling wholesale direct to the Interior Design Trade.  At Kravet, I was the VP of Showroom Sales for US and Canada, responsible for 32 showrooms.  Again, the highlight being supporting my sales teams across the US and Canada.  I love my people and I love to "lift them up" that is what brings me the most joy...seeing someone work hard and helping them reach for the stars and land on the moon!

I've had an amazing and fulfilling career and all the while have enjoyed ever moment of my life with family and friends!   In my personal life I've always been passionate (borderline obsessed) about  health and wellness and have read hundreds of books on the topic.  I have developed a formula for a healthy and vibrant lifestyle that has served me and others close to me, very well. I have personally been practicing yoga since 2013, practicing daily for about 3 years now and completed the 200 hour yoga teacher certification, which was an incredible education and journey.  In addition, I have earned my Health and Nutrition Coaching Certification from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. 

For hobbies, my husband Rob and I together enjoy travel, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, bike riding!  We love the outdoors and staying active and of course having fun! 

With all I have accomplished personally and professionally, the time has come for me to share my experience, knowledge and talent with individuals who want to grow personally or professionally, and who want to become best friends with themselves!  Yes, self-love, self-care, self awakening.  Unlocking the unlimited potential we all have inside us to realize a blissful life fulfilled.
